[ clown town.... Uriel is trying out a new fit today, and while the impending look of the jack o'lantern tunnel is interesting- she's more curious about something else. ]

[ gideon your brain. but she smiles warmly at her words, a sparring partner... she's looking forward to it already. ]
A sound? [ peeks back down. ] How about we check it out together? We both have our swords on hand so, if worst-case scenario we come across something we need to fight... we'll be prepared.
[ she thinks about it for a moment, before settles one hand over her own chest with a smile. ]
I'll go first, I'll trust you to watch our backs.
[ while she wouldn't have minded asking Gideon to go first, she's aware that most won't feel comfortable trusting their back to someone they don't know extremely well.
Uriel brings her own sword out with it decided, stepping in afterward with a watchful look ahead of them. ]
I wonder if it's meant to be a ride of sorts? A bit strange compared to the other ones though. [ secret tunnel..... ]
I'm sure if this carnival was being properly run it would be a bit more obvious. [ on what could be happening here. she pauses for a moment, as there's a sound of... footsteps? up ahead. ]

[ as soon as she says that, a group of demon animatronics appear with gibberish squeaking. uhhhh... ]
What the fâ â ? [ they're already pulling the string of their bow and shooting an arrow towards them, which Uriel barely reacts fast enough to deflect with a sword. damn, not even a hello? but.. she doesn't seem too worried. actually smiling, a gleam in her green eyes. ]
[oh, the second the animatronics appear, gideon pulls her sword out.
she also goes ??? how are you doing that with your mouth when uriel curses?? but it's fine, they're being shot at, so she kind of just rolls her shoulders and grins.]
Then it's a fight they'll get. [she says, satisfied.] Keep track of how many you get, let's make this a thing.
Absolutely! [ you just keep saying the right things, gideon. TO THE FIGHTING. skips the fight sequence so we aren't suffering doing it :handshake:
hate my rolls though. a 19, so she comes mostly completely unscathed. a few arrow nicks here and there from a stray arrow, but at least she didn't get completely pierced by an arrow. ]
Twenty of them! Any more around? [kicks my nat 20. anyways, by now they seem to have scattered or just. you know, destroyed by their hands. ]

anyway, i rolled a sixteen but i'm too lazy to upload it so she also gets a small nick from an arrow but for the most part, manages to dodge most of them. when uriel calls out, gideon is in the middle of stabbing her sword down and right through the head of one of the animatronics with a satisfying crunch.
when she pulls her sword away, she rubs the sweat from her face with her shoulder, and grins.]
You got moves, girl. You beat me, I lost track. Either way I think we scared them off.
she makes her way over, only a bit out of breath after that workout but she definitely looks just as bright as she did moments earlier. ]
I've taken up to arms in numerous wars in my time, it's good to know I haven't become too rusty. [ she rests her sword away at that later thought, nodding. ] Hopefully that means it'll be a little safer for anyone else that wanders in here later.
